On Monday, November 2, 2026 conferences will be held at all the schools 10:30am - 6:30pm

On Tuesday, November 3, 2026 there will be NO SCHOOL for CFL and BUE. GVMS and GVHS will be in session, as normal.

• CFL & BUE conferences on November 3rd will be held from 8:00am to 4:00pm.    
• There is NO CARDINAL CLUB (before/after-school care) on Tuesday, November 3rd. 

You will be receiving more information from your student's school about scheduled conference times.

GVHS Marching Band recently won 1st Place of the 1A Class at the Colorado West Marching Band Festival. According to Ms. Beaton, Music Teacher for both GVHS and GVMS, "the band had a strong performance, and their score in finals was 49.8. They have been working hard all season and it's good to see that work pay off. A huge thank you to the band parents who helped out at this competition, and the GVHS staff and administration."

The GVHS Marching Band is student-led by Drum Major Nadia Snyder.

They head to the Regional Marching Band Competition today. Good luck Cardinals!

La Banda de Música de GVHS ganó recientemente el primer puesto de la clase 1A en el Colorado West Marching Band Festival. Según la Sra. Beaton, profesora de música tanto de GVHS como de GVMS, "la banda tuvo una actuación sólida y su puntuación en la final fue de 49,8. • G16 is hosting Trick-R-Treat Street on Friday, October 30th 4:30pm - 6pm at BUE.
• Come enjoy a free kid-friendly haunted house, free candy, free hot dogs, and a free costume contest. 
• Parachute Branch Library will join us to host a Halloween Costume Contest outside of BUE (weather permitting) at 5:00pm
• Alpine Bank is providing free hot dogs!
• Kiwanis volunteers will be cooking the hot dogs and serving them up with a smile!

GVMS Outdoor Education Class climbed high and low, learning how to communicate, work together, and overcome their fears last week on the Grand Valley Challenge Course right here in Battlement Mesa.

La Clase de Educación al Aire Libre de GVMS subió alto y bajo, aprendiendo a comunicarse, trabajar juntos y superar sus miedos la semana pasada en el Grand Valley Challenge Course aquí en Battlement Mesa.

Esta clase es una forma para que los estudiantes salgan del aula tradicional para aprender habilidades de por vida para explorar y disfrutar de la naturaleza.

Durante este semestre, los estudiantes de la clase aprenderán sobre jardinería, Leave No Trace (no dejar rastro), gestión de riesgos, ciclismo de montaña, pesca y supervivencia en invierno. Los estudiantes también harán un poco de aprendizaje práctico para un proyecto de su interés, como la fabricación de arco, trabajo de cuero, seguimiento de animales y más!

Garfield 16's School Based Family Resource Center (SBFRC) would like to thank the Battlement Mesa Ladies Golf Club for hosting another successful Golf for a Cause Tournament. School District staff, community members, and golfers of all skill levels came out to compete for prizes donated by our generous community. 

The SBFRC is fortunate to be chosen as the beneficiary of this tournament. Thank you to the Ladies Golf Club, participants, volunteers, and sponsors for making this a great event!

El Centro de Recursos Escolares para Familias (SBFRC) de Garfield 16 quiere agradecer al Club de Golf Femenino Battlement Mesa por organizar otro exitoso Torneo Golf por una Causa. El personal del distrito escolar, miembros de la comunidad y golfistas de todos los niveles acudieron a competir por premios donados por nuestra generosa comunidad.

La SBFRC tiene la suerte de ser elegida como beneficiaria de este torneo. ¡Gracias al Club de Golf Femenino, participantes, voluntarios y patrocinadores por hacer de este evento un gran evento!

GVHS Cheerleaders were proud to host the performance of the Youth Cheer Camp. Pee-Wee Cheerleaders learned from GVHS Cheerleaders during the week. The team then performed during the GVHS Football Halftime Show! Way to go current and future cheerleaders!!

In addition, you will be able to visit with representatives from transportation, the Parachute Branch Library,  G16 Communications, and Western Colorado Migrant Services.

NEW! SBFRC Diaper & Pull-Ups Assistance Program

The School-Based Family Resource Center (SBFRC) is excited to offer diaper and pull-up assistance to families in the Garfield 16 School District!

Eligible families may request up to 37 diapers or pull-ups per child, per month, based on availability and size.

Sign-ups will be available during the 1st week of each month through our Facebook page, while donated supplies last.

The sign-up request form will launch next week! Stay tuned to our Facebook page for the link and additional information.

This program is made possible through the generosity of our amazing community donors. Thank you for helping us support local families!

Las familias elegibles pueden solicitar hasta 37 pañales o pull-ups por niño, por mes, según la disponibilidad y la talla.
